You can upload files and create folders in Moodle.
Adding a File to a Course (Using the Activity Chooser)
- Turn editing on by sliding the Edit Mode toggle to the on position. (Those using the Classic Theme in Moodle can click the Turn Editing on button.).
- Click the Add an activity or resource button.
- Under the All tab, select the File option.
- Under the General heading, enter a Name for the file.
- Drag a file into the Select files window. (Do not drag more than more file into the window, as Moodle will only display one file to students using the File resource. Use the Folder resource to display multiple files.)
- Under the Appearance heading, use the Display drop-down menu to specify whether the file will open in a New window or within a Moodle frame.
- Also under the Appearance heading, check the Show Type checkbox so viewers can see at a glance whether a file is a Word, PDF, or other file type.
- Click the Save and return to course button.
Adding a Folder to a Course
- Turn editing on by sliding the Edit Mode toggle to the on position. (Those using the Classic Theme in Moodle can click the Turn Editing on button.).
- Click the Add an activity or resource button.
- Under the All tab, select the Folder option.
- Under the General heading, enter a Name for the folder.
- Under the Content heading, drag files into the Files window. (Use the shift, control, or command keys on your keyboard to select multiple files at a time.)
- From the Display folder contents drop-down menu, select either On a separate page or Inline on a course page.
The Inline option displays the contents of the open folder on the main course page, but allows students to toggle to close it.
The separate page option displays only the folder on the main course page. When a student clicks the folder icon, a new window opens displaying the folder contents.
- Click the Save and return to course button.
