Linking to a Panopto Video

  1. Hover over the video’s thumbnail to reveal the Edit, Share, Settings and More Actions buttons.
  1. Click the Share button.

  1. Verify that you have set the correct permissions under the Who can access this video heading. Use the Change link to widen or restrict access to the video.

Typically, Panopto users set a video’s permissions to either Public (unlisted) or Your Organization (unlisted.)  Public (unlisted) allows anyone with the link to view the video. Your Organization (unlisted) will require people to log into Panopto using their Gettysburg credentials in order to see the video.

  1. Select the Link icon and click the Copy Link button.

  1. Log into Moodle and open a course.
  2. Turn editing on by sliding the Edit Mode toggle to the on position. (Those using the Classic Theme in Moodle can click the Turn Editing on button.)
  3. Find the location in the course where you wish to add the link and click the Add an activity or resource button.
  4. Click either the All or Resources tabs and select the URL option.

  1. Enter a Name for the link and paste the Panopto link into the External URL field.

  1. Click the Save and return to course button.
