Moodle Pages vs. File Uploads

The Page resource in Moodle allows users to create separate pages within a course to hold content. The File resource allows users to upload a Word, PDF, or other file type created outside of Moodle. There are advantages to using Pages, such as:

  • A page will open directly in the Moodle site and does not need to be downloaded to view.
  • Screen readers and other accessibility software may be able to access the content more easily in a page than certain file types.
  • You can update the material directly in Moodle. No need to edit the original and then re-upload the file.
  • Pages can link to other parts of the Moodle course.
