Using the Question Bank for Quizzes in Moodle

Moodle stores quiz questions in a database called a Question Bank. You can add, edit, and organize questions in a Question Bank.

Accessing the Question Bank

  1. Open a Course and turn editing on.
  2. In the Boost theme, click the More tab and select Question Bank.

  1. You can also access the Question Bank from within a Quiz by opening the Quiz and clicking the Question Bank tab.
  1. For those using the Classic Moodle theme, the Question Bank is located in the Course Administration Block.

Using the Question Bank

This video covers creating questions in the question bank, organizing the question bank, and using the bank for random quiz questions.

This video was recorded using Moodle 3 and the Classic theme. The default theme in Moodle 4 as of the Fall 2023 is Boost.
