In order to log into college email, and other single sign-on applications, or reset your password, Gettysburg College students must use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
Detailed Instructions on how to change authentication phone and email in Microsoft 365 Self-Service Password Reset Tool
If you have registered for the Microsoft 365 Self-Service Password Reset tool and you need to change your contact information (ie – you have a new phone number or alternate email address), you can use the following steps to update your information.
1. Go to https://aka.ms/ssprsetup and log in as usual.

3. Make modifications as needed by clicking Change. When you have changed your Phone or Email Authentication information, click looks good. You will then be redirected to the following page:
4. Users have now successfully changed their Authentication Methods and can select the program they wish to access.
Why do I need MFA?
Due to the increase in email phishing attacks and other issues such as weak or re-used passwords, passwords have become increasingly easy to compromise. MFA provides an extra layer of security beyond just a username and password. This helps protect you and the college, even if your password has been compromised. With MFA enabled, you will be alerted immediately if someone is trying to log into your college email account.
How MFA works
Once enabled, you will be prompted to set up your MFA options the next time you sign into your email. Options include the Microsoft Authenticator App, SMS text message, voice call, or secondary email. It is possible you are already familiar with this process from other online services such as Gmail or online banking.
