Audacity is a free, open source audio editor that works on Mac, PC, and Linux platforms.
You can download the free version of the program by going to the Audacity website and clicking the “Installs with no extras” button.
In order to import or export M4A audio files created by many phones and audio programs, you must also install the free FFmpeg library. See instructions for installing the FFmpeg library on the Audacity webpage.
