Recording with ScreenPal

Screencast-O-Matic has recently become ScreenPal. If you are having problems using Screencast-O-Matic, you may need to upgrade your software to ScreenPal.

ScreenPal is an easy-to-use and powerful screen recording tool that includes both free and paid versions. 

The college has a limited number of licenses of the Deluxe version of the software for Gettysburg faculty and employees. Employees should contact the Help Desk for information about downloading and installing the Deluxe version of the software. Students must use the free version of ScreenPal or purchase their own copy of the Deluxe version.

Free vs. Deluxe Versions

Free Version

  • 15 minute limit per video
  • Basic editing functions only
  • Records microphone audio, but not computer sound

Deluxe Version

  • Unlimited recording length
  • Premium editing features, including blurring sensitive material and importing images
  • Scripting tool
  • Records both microphone and computer sound
  • Automated Speech-to-Text Captioning
